LM Information Delivery is a family-owned company established in 1972. From 2002 onwards, the company has been managed by our current CEO Janne Järvinen. Our main focus has been building long-term partnerships with our customers, employees and partners.
Industry changing as technology develops
Over the years, our industry has changed significantly as technology develops and e-resources become more commonplace. Our company realised the significant role of e-resources at a very early stage: we made the first online services available to our customers in the 1980s, and in 1995 we started selling the first e-resources on CD-ROMs. Today our IT and e-Resource Consulting team help our customers to get the most out of e-resources.
LM Information Delivery has grown since the late 1990s and is currently one of the leading international information services providers. In order to support international growth, we changed the company’s name from LehtiMarket to LM Information Delivery in 2009. At the same time we also updated our visual identity.
We still believe in a strong local presence in all of our markets, and consequently we have strengthened our operations with local know-how in the UK, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, Spain, the USA and South Africa. We are proud of our customer service team, which is the largest and most experienced one in Northern Europe.
Close to our customers for over 40 years
An important part of our operations has always been to take part in and organise various events, seminars and training sessions. In addition, we participate actively in the activities of domestic and international industry organisations because we consider it important to engage in a regular dialogue with our customers and partners. As a result of this dialogue, we have launched several successful development projects.
The needs of our industry and customers are currently evolving quickly. In 2011, we carried out a Nordic library survey (Pohjoismainen kirjastotutkimus) concerning the role of the information services provider. The results showed that our customers appreciate competent, approachable customer service, quick implementation of services and easy-to-use technical solutions supported by a local customer service team. The concepts guide our operations and our vision, too.
